James Durie, Chair of Trustees

James leads the dedicated board of trustees, supporting the management of Underfall Yard Trust as an independent charity. With leadership positions at Bristol-based organisations such Purposeful Insight and Business West, James is committed to nurturing economic and cultural development in the local area.

Julie Sienesi and Sarah Murray, Directors

Julie and Sarah oversee the management of Underfall Yard Trust. They are both passionate about the yard and working towards its successful restoration. They are currently job-sharing, with Sarah becoming the sole Director in 2025 after Julie’s retirement.

Win Cnoops, Site and Maintenance Co-ordinator

Win has been involved with many key projects at Underfall Yard, including the successful rebuilding and operation of the Patent Slipway. Based at the yard since 1998 as an independent business owner, he now works with Underfall Yard Trust. His role includes maintenance and repairs on site, running of the slipway and supporting the Restoration and Reinstatement Project.

Flex Toomey, Community, Learning & Volunteering Manager

Flex manages the daily operations of the Yard’s Visitor Centre, volunteering program and public engagement projects. Contact Flex about volunteering, school visits, tour bookings, community projects, events and the history of the yard.

Clare Worrall, Finance and Admin Coordinator

Clare has over 10 years of experience working at Underfall Yard and is dedicated to making things run smoothly. Contact Clare about invoices and payments.

Loz Rush, Events and Development Manager

Loz oversees all events at Underfall Yard, including corporate and private parties, private catering, and the popular Underfall Makers Market. Ben Cann, Cafe Manager

Ben leads the vibrant café team at Underfall Yard, offering a welcoming atmosphere and exceptional service in a unique and historic setting. The café serves an array of drinks, cakes, and delicious meals made fresh to order. Ben is dedicated to ensuring that every visit to the Underfall Café is a delightful experience, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the charming surroundings of Underfall Yard.

VOLUNTEER TEAM

Our amazing volunteers help us to run the Visitor Centre, gather stories and memories of the yard, take gorgeous photographs, lead tours galore and much more besides. We have nearly 60 volunteers helping us and we are always in need of more engaged, interested and enthusiastic people to join the team.
