Every Summer, the harbourside springs into life for the Harbour Festival. It’s a spectacular celebration of the cultures and communities that make the city of Bristol truly one-of-a-kind. As an essential part of Bristol’s maritime history, Underfall Yard will be open until late, throwing a party for everyone to visit and enjoy this unique corner of the Floating Harbour!
We’re also delighted to welcome a wide array of local businesses, organisations and artists, coming together to help raise funds for the yard’s Fire Recovery Fund. By visiting Underfall Yard during this year’s Harbour Festival, you will be supporting the Underfall Yard Trust to preserve and maintain the boatyard as we recover from the fire in May 2023.
What’s On?
- Outdoor BBQ and Bar – The festival is always busy, so don’t forget to refuel! Tuck into a freshly made bap from the BBQ as you enjoy the harbourside view, or cool yourself down with an ice-cold pint from our generous supporters, Bristol Beer Factory. Look out for the yard’s cocktail menu as well!
- Live Acts (powered by Minirig) – The stage is set for an eclectic mix of local artists, uniting for the weekend to celebrate the yard. Expect live DJ sets, shanty crews, blues bands and guest appearances from the yard’s resident poets! Check the yard’s Twitter, Facebook or Instagram for updates on the line-up…
- Knot-Tying with the Knotters’ Guild – Back by popular demand, try your hand at some classic nautical knots and learn about knotting skills from around the world!
- The Cargo Challenge – Try your hand at lifting cargo onto an (imaginary) ship with help from the Association of Retired Merchant Seamen.
- Fire Iron Art – Support one of the yard businesses affected by the Underfall Yard fire. Joanna Williams, artist blacksmith, will be displaying her artwork for sale.
